Last year, another phase of the ongoing restoration of the historically valuable Lomnice Chateau near Tišnov was completed. The entire chateau complex is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic, and its rich historical development reflects the history of the site and the ownership situation of the Lomnice estate.
The gradual restoration of the complex has been underway since 2017, when the chateau was returned to its original owners, the Thienen-Adlerflycht family. In 2024, repairs continued on the roof of the west wing, following on from the phase of repairs to the roofs in the first courtyard. The reason is that the wooden elements of the roof were severely damaged by wood-destroying pests, the roofing and metalwork were at the end of their service life, and a structural and historical survey revealed that the roof frame was in a state of disrepair.
During the restoration of this monument, all original and subsequently added wooden parts of the affected roof elements were treated with BOCHEMIT QB profi, a clear protective agent against wood-destroying insects, according to the design by Filip Steck and Ladislav Rozsypal from A.Q. Attentus Qualitatis, s. r. o.
The report from the Service Catalog was created as part of media cooperation with the editorial staff of the PROPAMÁTKY (“FOR MONUMENTS”) portal.
