Thanks to a sensitive renovation, the Želiezovce manor house will regain its original appearance

Želiezovce manor house, also known as the "Estherházy Manor House", is located in the Nitra region in the district of Levice and is surrounded by the Franz Schubert Park. After World War II the manor house including its park was confiscated and belonged to the town and was used as a kindergarten. It currently serves as the Lower Hron Museum (“Múzeum Dolného Hrona“). The building is protected as a National Cultural Monument of the Slovak Republic.

Last year, the manor house underwent the first phase of renovation in order to preserve its cultural heritage and make it accessible to the general public.

As part of this phase, a complete roof reconstruction was carried out, during which new components were installed. The construction company POHORI, which carried out this job, chose Bochemit Opti F+ for its proven brand and guaranteed quality. The impregnation itself was carried out by means of coating, specifically by roller coating, because it was not possible to impregnate such long wooden parts in dipping tubs.

All rooms of the north-east wing had to be also restored according to the requirements of the conservation authority.  Thanks to the reinforcement of the ceilings, a walk-on area was created in the attic of the manor house. Already this first stage of the restoration of the manor house has created stately premises that the town will try to use as much as possible.
