Treatment of Timber Roof Structure of a Clergy House in Sebranice

Treatment of Timber Roof Structure of a Clergy House in Sebranice

This year saw the completion of another phase in the ongoing restoration of the local architecturally and urbanistically valuable listed Baroque clergy house in the very center of the village of Sebranice. During implementation, selected wooden roof frame and under-roof elements were successfully treated with colorless BOCHEMIT products.

For the restoration phase, Bochemit QB Profi was chosen for the new wooden structures, roof beams replaced or repaired using prosthetic timber, boarding, and decking. Bochemit Plus I was applied to the original structures, roof trusses, and ceiling boarding.

The clergy house in Sebranice has been mentioned since 1255, when it was under the patronage of the Benedictines of Rajhrad. The ancient wooden building, where Lutheran priests had served since the 16th century, gradually fell into disrepair. Therefore, with the financial assistance of Baron Jan Theodor von Imbsen of Kunštát, benefactor of the church, the parishioners of Sebranice built a new clergy house in the style of a Baroque chateau. The building and its park became the pride of the village in the 18th and 19th centuries.

However, since the 1980s, when the last, not very considerate structural modifications were carried out, the clergy house has been falling into disrepair. It has remained in a desolate state, especially in recent years, when the entire complex was acquired by the municipality from the church with the aim of using the large pieces of land for a development project.

The insensitive construction of a playground and houses near the clergy house a few years ago completed the degradation of what was originally a beautiful building. Since 2019, the monument has been in the hands of its current owner, who is gradually renovating it in an exemplary manner.
