Recently, chemical protection of the wooden parts of the roof structure of a valuable listed Baroque church from the 1720s located in the village of Vraclav in Ústí nad Orlicí region was applied.
It has been found that the source of the enormous pollution from birds is the loose shutters that allow them to enter the interiors. As part of the overall rehabilitation, the entrance area was first cleaned and swept, as it was excessively polluted by bird droppings, which put a chemical load on the wooden structure. It therefore had to be cleaned and its ceiling vaults vacuum-cleaned.
Colored thumbtacks were used to mark the wooden structure damaged by wood-destroying insects as well as horizontal and vertical cracks. The marked areas were hand-brushed several times with Bochemit, both as a liquid and protective layer. This was followed by spraying the wooden parts first with the colorless liquid product BOCHEMIT Plus I, and then with the clear protective product against wood-destroying insects BOCHEMIT Opti F+..
The design and implementation was carried out by Thermo Sanace, s. r. o. All the work, in which the original wooden parts were successfully treated with Bochemit products, took four days. Re-application is recommended within 4 to 5 years.
